Holika or Holi is commended as a celebration speaking to the triumph of well-finished underhandedness. This celebration remembers the consolidated festival of two distinct celebrations – Choti Holi (Holika Dahan) and Badi Holi (Rangwali Holi/Dhulandi).

Why Holika Dahan is so important for the Indian mythology and for our rituals??

Holi is the festival of joy, introducing the colors in our life. Sacred texts, for example, Narada Purana and Vishnu Purana are brimming with intriguing stories about the celebration of triumph. An outstanding evil spirit ruler named Hiranyakashipu had a child, Prahlad, who turned into an awesome and dedicated fan of Lord Vishnu. Lord Hiranyakashipu couldn't endure his child's dedication towards Vishnu and called his evil spirit sister Holika to murder Prahlad. Holika had a perfect blessing that fire couldn't consume her, so she proposed that she would sit with Prahlad in a fire. On account of her aid and the mysterious apparel she'd enhance, the fire would not do anything to her, but rather it would consume Prahlad. Be that as it may, when it was time and Prahlad was made to sit on Holika's lap, he started to absolute Vishnu's name, and serenade, "Om Namo Narayanaya".

The fire was determined to flame yet attributable to Vishnu's elegance and love for his young fan, the fire consumed the evil presence Holika while her enchanted dress spared Prahlad from the fire. As expressed in the verse of Bhagavad Gita (9.31):

Interpretation: "He rapidly winds up equitable and accomplishes enduring peace. O child of Kunti, pronounce it strongly that My enthusiast never perishes".

Holika passed on in that fire and this case was taken as an indication of the triumph and triumph of well-finished malevolence.

Significance and noteworthiness of Holika Dahan

Holika Dahan means that detestable can't exist for a long and in the end, it is great that will triumph. vyāptiṁ ca bhūteṣv akhileṣu cātmanaḥ

adṛśyatātyadbhuta-rūpam udvahan

stambhe sabhāyāṁ na mṛgaṁ na mānuṣam

Interpretation: "To demonstrate that the announcement of His hireling Prahlada Maharaja was significant — at the end of the day, to demonstrate that the Supreme Lord is available all over the place, even inside the mainstay of a get together lobby — the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, displayed a superb shape at no other time seen. The frame was neither that of a man nor that of a lion. In this manner, the Lord showed up in His superb frame in the gathering lobby".
